Why can't Public Works assist me where I am at (in 311GNV)? It's bad citizen service to expect me to follow up with Public Works. You don't even given me an email address or phone number to follow up with. Regardless, Public Works should follow up with me, not the other way around. Why is the ticket closed when the issue has not been resolved? Please forward my comments to whomever is making sure Gainesville is being citizen-centered.
Greetings on behalf of Alachua County Public Works,
Please allow me to apologize if you have been inconvenienced or feel as though we have not provided great customer service.
The issue was closed on our end because this area is not in the jurisdiction of Alachua County's Public Works Department. It had to be closed since it was assigned to us, but we are unable to resolve the issue.
It was never a suggestion that you personally follow up, it was stated in the intial response from the County that the "issue had been reassigned to the City's public works department where they will be able to further assist you". The reassignment of the issue to City also occurred before our staff commented. It is shown in the thread as well.
I did not include their contact information because the City always follows up on reassignments and comment on their own within the comment thread of the original issue. Their comment includes their contact information and also information regarding the work request that they generate based on the issue. It just appears that they did not have a chance to comment and include this information prior to you reviewing. But again, I do apologize for not including their contact information.
The City of Gainesville will be sure to recreate this issue in their SeeClickFix domain, that way it will not be closed until they are able to resolve the problem.
Thank you for your patience and your understanding.
The City of Gainesville's Public Works Department may be reached at 352-334-5070. But as mentioned previously, the City of Gainesville has been reassigned to this issue and will be sure to recreate the issue so that they have the ability to close it out on their end.
Our staff will be sure to be more thorough and explain the process of reassignment from here on out when this occurs.
Thank you for your time. We appreciate the feedback.
