I suggest continuing to bombard the OPD non-emergency line (510-777-3211) and the Oakland Public Works department (510-615-5566) about this issue. I call frequently and will continue to do so until this garbage dump is removed and this illegal activity is stopped. The cargo van is part of some business arrangement that the campers that are usually living on the Claremont Avenue off-ramp are involved with. That cargo van (license plate #4C50747) pulls up to Claremont Avenue on a daily basis and the campers then shuffle stuff from the van onto the sidewalk of Claremont Ave where they cover it with tarps. The current new pile of stuff covered by the brown tarp is the camping supplies of the Claremont Avenue off-ramp campers, as they have temporarily vacated this spot (probably because CalTran will come through and do their infrequent clearing/cleaning of that site). But be assured that those campers will quickly re-establish thier camp and then continue to load and unload garbage from the cargo van using the sidewalk of Claremont Avenue as their own personal storage facility. This is illegal, unsafe and a general nuisance to the entire neighborhood. I don't understand why OPD/City of Oakland refuses to do anything about this. Please keep calling and pushing to stop this pile from continuing to grow.

There is no street address here. The site being referred to by the poster is at the corner of Claremont Avenue near Hudson Street, under the freeway on the north side of the street. It extends almost the full length of the underpass and has now spread to the area of the mural. Please see the above note from someone who got the license number of the van that is dropping iff junk at the site.

It is a separate complaint, and if someone there would actually read the comment string, you would see that someone posted a photo of the van that keeps coming by to drop off junk. Are you looking up the owner? Finding out why they are dropping junk here? Sending out a police officer to tell them to stop? Citing them? No one lives here, it is just hoarded junk being stored illegally on the street.
