Description
a dumpster is on Harvey St, across the street from us. There was a permit that went until mid- JUne. THE DUMPSTER IS STILL THERE! taking up two parking spaces and making a home for rats (yes, I have seen them). Workers are filling it up from pick up trucks- I assume form other jobs at other addresses. Thank You for your time

Your report has been assigned to the Inspectional Services Department for follow up. A City Inspector will visit the area to determine if violations are present that attract rodents.
Please call Inspectional Services at 617-349-6100 if you would like to follow-up on the inspection.

This issue is related to Issue ID 3496231 and I am pasting the same comment here as well.
Please keep treating these two issues as separate as one is illegally place dumpster and the other is for rodent infestation hazard. And PLEASE address these two issues ASAP
By the way, there is no 53 Harvey Street. It should have been 51 Harvey Street, owned by WINSTON, NANCY F., TRUSTEE, THE NANCY E. WINSTON REV TRUST, according to the Property Database. The dumpster sat through heat waves and rain for over a month since this issue was first reported. PLEASE provide what City has done to remedy this situation as well as numerous Dumpster application violations.
According to the Dept of Traffic, Parking and Transportation website, "Permit applications must be submitted at least 7 calendar days (one week) before the installation date.,,.This requirement allows time to approve the application and post signs 48 hours in advance." Furthermore,
"Dumpsters left on the street illegally will be removed at the owner's and applicant's expense.
Dumpsters must be moved to accommodate street cleaning and snow emergencies.
The area around the dumpster must always be kept clean.
Dumpsters must be emptied regularly and covered with a tarp each night and when full."
Finally, "Weekly fee: $75 for the first week, $100/week thereafter, "
I haven't seen any permit signs around the dumpster; I haven't seen the dumpster covered with tarp when full. And I don't know if the dumpster was moved on the days of street cleaning nor whether the applicant has been paying the additional fee since June 5th as identified in the initial report.
Clearly, the dumpster is left on the street illegally so PLEASE enforce the dumpster application regulations and REMOVE it at the owner's and applicant's expense.
Thank you

This dumpster has been removed. Traffic and Parking had spent some time attempting to contact the holder of the permit once it was brought to their attention. Dumpster removed before successful contact by T&P.
