This is not closed! I refuse to cut up my driveway and be stuck with the bill! Do the right thing and send out one of your engineers to inspect this. Cause the root has cracked the sidewalk and lifted my driveway.
I was contacted and told I need to demo my driveway at my cost and if it is the city Tree root then you will fix my driveway but I won’t get reimbursed the demo charge! How does that sound fair?
The tree removal was previously completed. A service request was also created for any lifting to the public right of way including the sidewalk, gutter and drive approach to be repaired. Should you have questions regarding the claims process for any damage to private property including your driveway please contact the City Clerk's office at (951) 736-2201
Leon,
It's my understanding that you may be responsible to have the driveway done if it was damaged by the tree roots. I believe you have to get the bids and then file a claim with the city for payment. Be careful if you got his route the city may have a time limit on how soon you have to file the claim.
Leon,
If my memory is right I believe the city gives you 6 months from the date you discovered the problem with your driveway. Looks like your first comment on Click Fix was June 23, 2017. If I am correct you would have until 12/23/2017 to file the claim. Please verify with the city. If I am right you need to move pretty quick and get the claim filed. The big thing is get it filed. Use some inflated numbers but put some numbers on the claim. They will negotiate it later.
