Please call Rosa DeLauro's office and ask her to designate a few million dollars more per year for sidewalks -- which desperately need the funding and create way more jobs per dollar spent than many other public works projects -- instead of supporting hundreds of millions of dollars in dubious highway expansion and retrofit projects.
One example is the Branford rail bridge, a perfectly functioning road area that did not need a $100 million reconstruction, especially when folks here can't even walk around their own neighborhoods.
We need to have priorities that make sense, Rosa!
I've added this as a potential action item in case folks would like to organize the effort.
