I was just going to report this property again today. Happy that BetterVallejo beat me to it. Hopeful that Code Enforcement will take care of it! The junk can be seen from Kentucky Street and Mare Island Way. It's not good. Something has to be done ASAP.

Just looked at eTRAKiT and saw that there are 22 posted violations. Does the city have the power to intervene in a significant way? Something more than a slap on the wrist?

Sadly, the only thing left to do is go take all our SeeClickFix notices to city hall where we can show that nothing has changed in a year of notices. Perhaps City Council will now be willing to take a look that nothing happens. I was at the last CC meeting on Tuesday and the blight around the city was top on the agenda. If Code Enforcement can't or doesn't have the laws in place to make it happen then we need to address that too. Again...dragging and hiding this in etrakit to me defeats the purpose of reporting here. Come on David Sidie, give us some FEED BACK please!!

The city has the laws in place and cover issues like motorhomes and illegal dumping. When it comes down to it, the city in some cases chose not to enforce these or in others cases are unable to do to a shortage of "resources". Either reason does not change the fact that we still have our needs.

Blight, I think is getting worse. I think the City needs to develop alternatives to current code enforcement. Additional resources? Cameras? Police involvement? Can the City Manager and the City Council comment?

Code enforcement IS part of the Police Dept. so that is not working. Add to that, we get no feedback from anyone on the disconnect between our reporting and the cities "Etrakit" system. They simply close the case here and move it over there. Then there is NO reverse reporting from Code Enforcement back to the citizens who take our time to report in the first place. Further, ask for help if you don't have the resources! I know a core of people who would volunteer time to get the blight off our streets. Start a volunteer section that just takes pictures of even cars that are reported daily that can be ticketed and towed! That makes $$$ for the city and make citizens feel like they are heard and making a difference.

how many months does it take? I know it only took him the day he first arrived to start junking up the place. Parking illegal structures, filling up the property with garbage, not taking care of the weeds. He is living there with no water no sewer, no electricity, no trash pick up. Is this not a city ordinance? Remedy this. It is right on Our city waterfront. Is this what we want visitors to think of our city?

LH, he is NOT the property owner but hearsay from the City was that he did indeed have a lease. If he indeed does, then that begs the question you and Captain are asking. Basically, he is a homeless guy with a lease who does not care one bit about the appearance of the neighborhood.

Can you think of any other Bay Area city that would allow this kind of mess in plain view of the ferry terminal that tourists and commuters pass through daily? Ask any commuter from the valley if they'd like to live in this neighborhood. Ask any Napa Valley visitor their permanent impression of the Vallejo waterfront. The city's failure to act on homelessness and dumping is tantamount to sabotage of downtown property, social, and cultural values.

I wonder if Congressman Thompson saw our Lovely trash ridden water front?
I want this trash cleaned up.

As previously stated, Code Enforcement Officer Sidie has an active case on the property, case reference #CE17-1082, and has recently issued a Notice of Violation along with a fine. A re-inspection has been scheduled for next week. This issue MUST remain closed in SeeClickFix so that we can remove it and move on to the next time along the queue, as the eTRAKiT system is not connected to SeeClickFix and therefore a work order or "case" is opened in eTRAKiT. Due to staffing, we simply cannot leave an issue "open" in SeeClickFix. I have been more than patient 13 months to allow you to work on the next thing. Am I supposed to be satisfied with this level of response? What can we citizens do? I brought this to your attention on July 2016. I nicely came down in person. We neighbors of this scourge have been more than patient while this property gets more and more full of trash. If this were Hidden Brook it would never have occurred. We notify you, instead of filling up the time unnecessarily and inappropriately of the police. Be on our side. FIX IT, PLEASE!
