Description
I am convinced that the major contributor to pavement deterioration is water and climate. Water gets into the crevices or spaces and boils during hot weather, or expands during winter temperatures below freezing. This puts a tremendous localized force on the pavement
material. So, what I am convinced is that if rollers run over periodically at least on the main streets to seal the crevices, compact and smooth out the surface, the water would run off more easily and would evaporate rather than penetrate the pavement. The rollers could be run during the night. The roller would also compact the surface, thereby, cars would not suffer as much shock, avoid early deterioration of costly struts, and tires and other mechanisms.
