This house across from me recently fell victim to Section 8. The "landlord" (like the mayor) doesn't even live in the city, and was informed years ago. Nothing has been done. The city still fines residents for not shoveling their sidewalks during winter, unkempt lawns, parking violations, etc. If the local paper is valid, the city is in financial trouble. One way to generate some revenue is making sure SLUMLORDS don't trash our city from the outside in. Who is running this city, and why are they completely incompetent?

Matt, I do not copy (or cut) and paste.
Ok, let's take your "trash and demo pileup" situation...
Let's say the codes department does the job that the city laws allow them to.
First they send a notification to the property owner. Then they wait...
Second, if the situation is not remedied, they send a violation notice. Then they wait...
Third, they have to go to court because the property owner fights them in court, costing the city more money. The judges, btw, have been ruling on the side of the property owners for some reason.
So, three months later you will still see nothing done. And NOT because of any lack of work done by Codes. You KNOW the process, you are a part of the city's RDA. Also, did the RDA ever take care of the sheds that were being used as a safe place for prostitutes and drug addicts??
Rapid ticketing will cost the city. And it would be possibly the best investment it could make. Money made from the program would pay for it. In addition, there would be no reinvention of the wheel, only duplicating what Lancaster and Allentown have already done to clean their cities up, SUCESSFULLY. It almost seems like you want something to complain about Mr Baker, rather than addressing and fixing the problem!

Because what the initial issue posted was for has not been resolved and will not be. Further a reply was made in haste to another user that needs to be removed. I have requested that the posting be deleted. Thank you.
