Description
Kent Police responded to a blocking disabled which ended up in the 6400 block of S 190th St. in Kent. The vehicle had a broken axle and fwheel after hitting the curb at this location Several subjects reported that the business park has had a disabled vehicle in their lot from the same issue about once a week. Can Tukwila paint the curb to make it visible? The curb shows a lot of wear and tire treads.

I also reported to the City of Kent but I understand it's under the City of Tukwila - below is the information I had e-mailed -
"We got information from some of the people who have been affected. It seems to be to do with the sidewalk around S Todd Blvd. The lane changes from 2 lanes to 3 lanes and right before it does, part of the sidewalk at S Todd Blvd extends out. There's a detour sign on this area currently.
People are not seeing the sidewalk that comes out and driving over the sidewalk. They flatten both tires on the right side of the car and the axle is broken on many of the cars that we have seen so the cars aren't able to be driven. I think several of the cars were totaled. You can see the scratches on the sidewalk.
We did have a quick fix recommendation of possibly painting the side of the curb yellow or red to make it more visible... or possibly add cat eyes for when it's dark. If someone could review the side walk and possibly reconfigure or signs added so drivers see more clearly, it would be appreciated.
As mentioned, it seems to be a weekly or every other week occurrence and we're concerned about the safety of this area. If you can pass this on to the City of Tukwila also it would be good if we can prevent further accidents. I understand it has also been reported to the Police for some of the accidents but do not know if it was the City of Kent or the City of Tukwila.
*** Update -
There have been 2 cars this week that pulled over into our area. A SUV on Monday with a broken axle and a black car this AM.
