Even though this SCF is closed, the City of St Pete has been notified and will address this issue. Additionally, Our Senior Field Coordinator said that even though Oak St NE is a County road, it is maintained by the city of St Petersburg and is being officially turned over to the city. The city with the County's assistance are planning a project to reduce the flooding on Oak St NE. If you would like more information regarding this, you can contact the city at the number stated above. Thank you. Pinellas County Public Works.
I understand that this road is on the City's work plan but it may need some temporary improvements (like a drain cleanout) until it comes up for work. There are several residential complexes that are only accessible from this road and when the rain is moderate to heavy, the road is impassable for a couple of hours at least. In the last rainstorm event, the end of the road was full of residents that had to sit and wait for over an hour for the water to subside enough to make it passable.
A work order has been issued and assigned to a Stormwater Crew, they will evaluate the catch basins and drains in the area. Thanks again, Mayor's Action Center
