please be advised that the JCMUA cleaned the catch basins on 8/9/17. There was standing water at the curb at the time of the inspection. to prevent the standing water the street would have to be regraded

Is this going to be done every time it rains? It's going to continue until, as you mentioned above, regrading is done to prevent flooding.

Long-term fix has still not been addressed. Every time it rains, this corner floods.

Today there's a 15 foot long sheet of ice along this corner because a long-tern fix has still not been addressed. Stick with the same lazy solution as before, wait for the warm weather to take care of this???

Engineering will inspect on site and if a survey is needed to determine a design to reconstruct the drainage elevations, we will proceed in that manner. I will update this thread with our findings when we are able to complete these steps.

THERE IS NO CATCH BASIN ON THIS CORNER, THAT IS THE PROBLEM!

yes there are catch basins just not at the corners. this appears to be a grading issue in which i am referring to Jersey City Engineering.

We attempted to rework the pitch of the asphalt at the corner but the slope is too minimal to obtain positive drainage. The only other solution which is much more expensive will be to add a drainage inlet at the corner and tie into the system but these improvements can not happen until the Spring.

ISSUE CLOSED.
