Description
The speed limit is 35MPH, yet drivers constantly go below speed... sometimes at most 20-25MPH on Lakeshore Blvd in Eastlake.
People need to realize that once out of Willoughby the speed increases to 35MPH.
Get with it.

I never speed, I'd just like to go the speed limit instead of 10 mph under it. If people want to go slow take the side streets.
Way to Assume on your part.

Why do people think this website is for complaining about the general population in an area? I am really sick and tired of people just using this as a forum to complain about anything and everything that floats through their empty heads. This website is for problems with the roads, signage, or other issues that can be resolved by local municipalities.
NOT FOR COMPLAINING ABOUT PEOPLE.
If you want to complain about people, do it on Craigslist. This is for people who actually want to see things fixed, or want to inform others of issues they know about so they can avoid them. Not a soapbox for you to rant on about how you are annoyed at someone or something.
If you don't want to be bothered by people, then move away from them. There is plenty of land out in Nebraska and North Dakota where you can be hundreds of miles away from anybody. I suggest you go there, because that is the only way you are going to get people to change.

You do realize aside from the soccer field that the the only other legal passing zone is by Traymore. Thats ok though, maybe someone will miss judge when passing and hit a precious school bus or another driver.
Luckly I won't get a speeding ticket, because again, I don't ever speed. Never had a traffic offense in my life. Just because I want to drive the posted speed doesn't make me a wreckless driver. You're creating more of a hazard by having people tailgate you from driving below the correct speed.
Perhaps take a drivers ed/road rage course of you are incapable of driving the posted speed?
lol (Guest)
haha Joe, you must be one of those drivers that has a line of @#$% off drivers behind you.
The speedlimit on Lakeshore is 35MPH, if you can't drive that, maybe you shouldn't be driving.

I completely agree, these slow drivers create a more of a hazard. It's only a matter of time before someone tailgating smashes into a slow driver.
Go the speed limit!
The mod who closed this should probably have a look around... all Lake County fix it's are traffic related, and this is indeed a safety hazard.

Here's an idea (Guest)
I see a lot of moaning but no solutions.
I agree that people need to drive the posted limit to avoid traffic congestion, tailgating, and road rage.
What the Eastlake PD needs to do is setup those Speed Limit signs that show clear as day how fast you are going opposed to the posted limit.
I honestly think people don't realize the speed limit is 35, because they drive a constant 25-28MPH.
Drawing more attention to the correct speed should help in improving this issue

I drive between 35 and 38 (and I used to live on Lakeshore) and I am always tailgated. In front of me is a person going 25!!! Never fails.
The speed limit is 35 and according to the police dept., you can get stopped for not going the speed limit as much as you can going over it, because you are impeding traffic.
It is called a speed limit. You don't need to take it so literally.

I hate it too, but when I get close to Timberlake, I do 30 tops
Cool Headed (Guest)
I think the bigger issue is that the speed limit goes from 25 to 35 a couple of times between where it turns into 615 in Mentor and where it connects with Vine. They really should just make the entire street 35. Because people just don't know what the speed is.
The other issue is Timberlake, who will pull you over for accelerating when you turn off of 91 onto Lakeshore... even if you never go above 25, they will pull you over and give you this little speech about how it is dangerous and you should slowly proceed through the intersection... and he COULD give you a ticket (NOT! you haven't broken any laws) but he will just write this off as a warning if you promise not to do it again... And since when is it OK for the police to be sitting in a residential driveway while on duty? Kind of weird, if you ask me.
The 25 areas are mostly where it is in Willoughby, IIRC. I will have to make a map of where the 25 and 35 zones are. Put them in my phone as alerts, so i know when to slow down.
