Description

Information I was given when I called the DPW today was that I could "just throw away" button cell batteries and that if I brought them to the DPW, that they would just throw them away. This is in conflict with everything that I have read about the state and federal requirements around proper disposal of button cell batteries. I would like to know if I am misunderstanding the law or if the DPW needs to better educate the people answering the phones with respect to this topic. Thank you.
