Really encourage someone from the Town to not just drive by but to walk this segment of sidewalk from Arena Terrace and cross Sudbury Road. You will see it is our only access and well used. The sidewalk is the only way in and out for residents and visitors coming from Concord who are not driving.

The addition of the jersey barriers avoids unsafe crossings of Route 2 to get to Town but also cuts us off from access commuter station, schools shopping and anything else one wants to do in Town for people who are not driving.

Worried this winter will bring further pavement erosion and undercutting of the sidewalk, so if the sidewalk were repaired, removal or widening of the access would solve two issues,

Is this sidewalk owned & maintained by the Town or MassDOT?

Just received a 45 day reminder and still very interested to improve the access. This winter if the Sudbury sidewalk plow could also do this stretch that would allow allow people to reach the CUmberland Farm Market and get into the Communter Train Station. It could be done by going around the poles and off the sidewalk.

Per your advice, called MassDOT District 4 regarding care & maintenance of the sidewalk.

MassDOT said the side walk is the Town of Concord's responsibility. It appears that the Town and the State do not agree about who needs to take care of the sidewalk's routine maintenance such as removal of snow and road sand much less address the much needed ADA access issues/concrete repairs.

To create some care and maintenance for this sidewalk, hoping the Town's AdminisMy takeaway is an Administrative agreement between the Town and the State needs to happen so operational proticals can be established.

Will sidewalk improvements be included in rte 2 project which is starting?
