It's private property and there are no regulations. They can charge what they wish.

So, your complaint is that a private business is charging too much for parking on their property? I'm sure you were good with the cost of the avocado toast at brunch though?

Street parking is free and Decatur on the weekends and I find it hard to believe at brunch that every single parking space around the entire downtown area was taken if you didn't want to pay $10. Hopefully that Decatur Police Departmente will get their top detective on this right away. Thanks for your effort.

It is true that there was no place to park in the area in front of sweet Melissa's or on the street on Ponce or even around the corner .
I realize this city has no control over what is charged for parking on private property .
What I don't care for and your reply is your sarcasm and snarkiness . You don't know me and I don't know you but your remarks and sarcasm are unnecessary

And this is just the beginning, folks. Concerned Citizen, your attitude was unnecessary, and NanBernadette, you are only seeing the "tip of the iceberg." As construction continues skyward all around Decatur, and people move into Metro Atlanta for non-existent jobs, and more and more cars pour onto the already overburdened roads, with no upgrade or expansion of plumbing and storm drains, etc., and more concrete, storied parking garages mar the view, but no more free parking appears...Well, clearly, attitudes will only grow more snarky.
