Missed a description, so I'll include it here. The new roof on the Woodland Meadows school building basically acts like a giant mirror around 5-7pm each day when the sun hits it right. It creates a wide eye-level surface of blinding glare across the road if you're driving west down Woodland drive.
I drive down this way on my way home from work every week day, and it's very difficult to see or maintain your vision on the road, even with sunglasses.
I'm further concerned because some kids' sports are held in the fields over there, and walking across from the parking at the UAW building is not uncommon. I just drove through on Friday when a football practice was going on, and thought to myself that it would be very difficult to see if there were children crossing the road at this time.
I'm not saying it needs a whole new roof or anything, but there's surely some low-cost solution like spraying non-reflective/opaque paint that would go a long way toward reducing the danger.
Apologies if this isn't the place to report this - I would appreciate it if you could share this concern with the appropriate parties. Also, if you were to drive on this road around 6pm you'll surely see what I mean.
Why didn't you complain last year then when they did Heritages roof. Its the same style roof,etc.. and it would produce the same glare as Woodlands. No need to waste money on painting it. If you have a complaint about it, you need to address it with the school board. It's not a city issue.
