Public Works has received your request (#17-08-0257) and assigned it to our Maintenance Division to respond within the next two weeks. We maintain 44 bus shelters throughout Alameda, and receive numerous requests related to their maintenance. Your electronic submission goes a long way to helping you and Public Works track the request. Thank you in advance for your help (and patience) in maintaining Alameda’s bus shelters.
Yes, exactly! Maybe the people and department in charge of placing the new trash and recycling containers along Park could have discussed their intentions with transit and neighborhood associations.
A good example of "not thinking it thru" is the bus shelter and trash cans at Park Street heading south just past Santa Clara.
The bus shelter is in front of 1503 Park - with lots of wide generous sidewalk space immediately adjacent. Yet the new trash and recycling containers were placed a full 54 feet away in front of 1429 - where the sidewalk is narrow and obstructing foot traffic. Seriously?!
Who makes these decisions? You have one job to do. How about thinking it thru folks.
Your request (#17-08-0257) is now a work order, assigned to staff. Thank you for helping to keep Alameda a great City. This is an automated response. If your request is an emergency, please call 911.
