Description
Why doesn't Medford clean the side streets more than 2x a year? Our neighbor Somerville cleans their side streets EVERY WEEK. Some of streets in Medford look disgusting, especially this year with the black fungus causing the leaves to fall early.
If the city enforces parking restrictions, the ticket money will more than likely pay for the additional cleaning.
Just a thought. . .

The other streets in the City are swept in the Fall and Spring.

Chicken or the egg?
We need to clean the streets to attract more businesses. The original poster was correct in writing that the enforcement of parking bans and parking tickets should generate the revenue needed to pay for the additional cleaning. Taxes are not the answer. Enforcement of the parking restriction is (which Medford is notorious for not tagging).
ok, back to work

Haha good point - chicken! No, egg!
But I agree, enforcement is definitely a step in the right direction. For example, apparently anyone parked in the triangle in front of Tufts Park should get ticketed, but they never do. That would be easy revenue!
I don't mean to sound like I'm advocating for higher taxes, but certainly a more active business community would help.
