This is still an ongoing issue. What's it going to take - a tragic accident before this is fixed? The parking lot should be clearly separated with a concrete barrier or brick wall to stop this practice of cars driving along the sidewalk. (Was there a deal cut to look the other way...?)

Still a problem. This was reported to the police at a civic group meeting on July15. Does one need to call the tv news and get a camera there to do an expose to get something done?

Still a problem. Cars are using the sidewalk as a driveway all day everyday. THIS IS NOT RIGHT !
A physical barrier to safeguard pedestrians should be erected here immediately!!

Police say they have to see someone doing this before they can do anything. You have the stand there for no more than a minute on a sunday to witness numerous cars using the sidewalk as a car lane. The assigned cop says he doesn't work on weekends. Basically NOTHING will be done until there is a serious accident and a baby in a stroller is crushed by cars swinging out of the parking lot and driving on the sidewalk? This is a streets dept and L&I violation!! I'm sure there was NOT a variance granted to this shopping center owner to change a public sidewalk into a motor vehicle travel lane. The Asian Shopping complex at 6th & washington has a concrete curb at the perimeter of it's lot as a separation safety barrier. This owner show be made to put up a similar concrete barrier protecting public sidewalk.

Seems like a no brainer... The sidewalk is for pedestrians- not for cars to drive along...

Again, nothing has been corrected with this dangerous situation.

Becasue the club is on the 2nd floor, the sound is elevated with less buffers and travels farther.
Also, the parking lot at this complex is a tragedy waiting to happen specifically along the sidewalk on the Wash Ave frontage. There is no divider between the sidewalk and parking lot. The owners have the parking spots painted right up to the sidewalks edge with the result being that cars turn blindly onto the sidewalk as they travel looking for spots or to exit. This is especially evident on weekends-especially sundays. i've been told to call the police when I see it happening and tickets will be given but that is ridiulous as by the time the cops get there the car would be long gone. Also was told the Community Relations officer doesn't work weekends so nothing can be done. LAME!

Well, there finally was a pedestrian accident in this lot. I heard that one of the pedestrians was killed as a result but couldnt get a followup to the news story about the accident. Please force this property owner to physically install hardscaped divider between the parking lot and the sidewalk. There is a parking lot on north side of Washington Avenue on north side at 13th street that could be rented on weekends which is when the most dangerous conditions exist at this shopping lot.
