i live in the neighborhood and the way people drive through it is appalling. speeding by with no regard with little kids in plain sight playing on the sidewalks.

had a guy in an LK burket FC haab work truck blow a stop sign on me, almost hit my car and did 50 down old state today, kids outside..cutting through..... and he gave me the finger. interesting. springfield township, you better get your act together before you lose one of your young citizens to a nutjob avoiding rush hour traffic on rt. 1.

Lived on Old State Road for 10 years. Understand all the frustration. I wanted to throw a life size doll into the road as the speeders passed and freak them out. they don't even slow down for the stop sign at Golf View and Old State Road.

Springfield needs 15mph backroads to have a chance at people doing 25mph. We can not change the speeders mentality, but we can change the base off which they make their decisions. 15mph backroads to keep the traffic on the 35-45mph main roads.

This happens on all back street that people use as a cut through. I have witnessed several cars doing 60+ down my street, while kids are out playing, to get to Saxer before the light changes. The police even put down those speed strips to track speeders...but they saw the strips and slowed down. The percentage of speeders wasn't high enough for them to do anything. I have had people honk and swerve around me while i was crossing my own street because they were speeding around the corner and ignored the stop sign. Unfortunately this ignorance is everywhere. We need less of the "me me me" attitude and actually start caring about people's safety.
