While exiting the SB Blue Route onto NB Baltimore Pike, most drivers stop in the merge lane for a stop sign which does not exist. It's a merge lane people. There's not even a Yield sign there, so please don't stop. Drive into the merge lane and MERGE into traffic.

Guess you don't understand sarcasm.
I live in a residential neighborhood with a stop sign right outside my window.
Approx. at best,MAYBE 5
stinkin' % come to a stop. Of that amount maybe half the 5% come to a COMPLETE stop! My street is a cut-thruogh to avoid a busy backed-up intersection,so my street becomes a sort of a by-pass.esp. at rush hours.Drivers blow through the stop signs with absolutely no fear of law enforcement, because of the residential status.
If the stop signs were removed it would actually cause or force drivers to at least slow down because they wouldn't know what to do!

I love how people think that they don't have to yield in a situation like that. It boggles my mind how idiotic some people are. My guess is that there USED TO BE a yield sign there, but an accident knocked it down and it was never replaced. Bottom line, you end up needing to change lanes, and whenever there is a lane change involved, there is an automatic YIELD and MERGE. If there is traffic coming, and you can't do it, you STOP. If it's clear, or sufficient room, feel free.
Oh, and one other thing that seems to escape people these days - putting your turn signal on to signal intent to change lanes does NOT give you the right of way to do so!
