Upper branches have been removed, but the trunks remain, including some bark, which can promote the spread of Dutch Elm Disease by creating habitat for Elm Bark Beetles, which transmit the DED fungus to healthy trees when they hatch in the spring. Trunks should be disposed of, or at least the bark should be completely removed.

The tree has been inspected and prioritized for action.

We arranged to have the trunks removed and are still waiting to have the stumps taken out. We have signed up for replacement trees with URI. Please let us know when you can remove the stumps.
