Thank you for reporting your concern to SeeClickFix. The City does not maintain the canals. The canal area in question falls under the jurisdiction of Central Broward Drainage.
The City is promoting See Click Fix as a way for residents to report concerns. Therefore, I think waiting almost 6 months to send a reply is inappropriate. Further I don’t understand why the City cannot refer this issue to the Drainage District. That is common practice in other Code Enforcement agencies. I would encourage you to provide better customer service to residents of Cooper City.
I do not see why publicly owned land is exempt from maintenace requirments under Cooper City Code. This trash has been here for more than 6 months. Code enforcment needs to issue a NOV to the Draiange District that own the canal right of way and enforce the Code. I walk past this daily and it is a disgrace.
As previously explained, the City does not maintain any waterways. The area in question falls under Central Broward Drainage District. You can contact them directly at 954-432-5110 to discuss your concerns.
