Owner Martiza Perez brought her dog Koki into Banfield Pet Hospital in Leominster for his routine exam. During check in when asked if she had concerns she mentioned that patient had been limping. Upon examination the pets paws were so matted that circulation had been cut off and infection had taken route, both paws were extremely swollen. Once able to remove the matted fur it was discovered that the infection on the right leg was so deep that the pets tendons could be seen from the open wound. It was recommended by our DVM that the patient be brought to an animal ER within the next 48 hrs and the pet was sent home with antibiotics and an NSAID.
