I continue to be amazed at the brazen attitude that TXDOT has in ignoring this serious problem of large potholes at this intersection. The circular pothole is at least 12 inches in diameter. The rectangular pothole is almost 2 feet long, 3 inches wide, and 3 inches deep. These potholes have been there unrepaired for at least 6 months. I was so glad to see the Star-Telegram web site be created to bring attention to these matters and publicize the problem to the appropriate authority. A city of Grapevine public works officer called me to let me know that it is TXDOT's responsibility to repair Highway 26 since it is a state highway. He told me that he had called TXDOT anyway to bring attention to the problem. More than two weeks later the potholes continue to be a hazard and damage the suspension systems of unlucky vehicles that hit them. The crumbling pavement is now a missile launch site as tires hit the asphalt pieces and sling them into the air to hit other vehicles. It is high time that TXDOT resolves this problem. They are accountable to us, the taxpayers! How dare they ignore a simple request to do the job they are paid to do?
