I agree...... I wonder when an accident occurs at this intersection because of all the "confusion and congestion at this intersection" if the parties involved would sue the city?This could, perhaps, force the city to do something.

Good luck to trying to sue this city for anything .They will appeal the case over and over till you run out of money or throw your hands in the air in dispair.After all money is no oblect to them in a court case they have all the taxpayers in Red Deer behind them.It wont matter how right you are you will be wrong everytime and very broke trying to prove your right.

Of course, we could vote in a city council in october 2013 that would remove the bike lanes.

City of Red Deer I disagree, this has not been completed. I drove past it just an hour ago and saw carnage in the "lanes". It still looks the same. I will take additional photos to prove this.
Lets actually get some real movement towards a solution here please.

These are important factors when considering and determining fault --- any outside influences, such as being distracted or turning improperly in the intersection.

why was my comment removed? All it said was that this issue (to remove the bicylcle lanes) should be an issue on its own. How is that inflammatory or offensive?

All it said was a retort to JUST PAY YOUR TAXES comment how pointless it was suing the City.........................My removed retort/ comment went something like this ……. Insurance companies won't sue the city.You have an accident your pay.The best way to get results is if several taxpayers that have had accidents due to the cities not responding to this issue after it has been bought to there attention over and over and over is to have a class action bought up against them and the council.There is lots of documentation provided on serveral web pages connected to the city and council where 100s have complained about this issue including a petition with over 4000 signatures on it.Good ammunition to show the cities incompetence.

Can I add to this that perhaps it I not a snow removal issue but a paint issue.
The lanes are not clear at all since the additions of the bike lames. Just yesterday we were in the turning lame going west on 39th street a truck honked at us thinking we were in his lane!

The paint that is visible is the old lines and the actual lane are missing due to wear.

I travel this road daily and sometimes multiple times... I'm finding it hard to establish where my lane is anymore... And I'm a daily driver on this road, I couldn't imagine what it would be like for people who aren't familiar with it. There is still mass chaos at this intersection.

Thank you to our hard working city workers that are trying to come up with a solution to this mess the politicians created for all of us.
