We experience sidewalk overgrowth big time in Los Angeles CA. It's gotten to be my pet peeve. The Los Angeles Bureau of Street Services places very low priority on investigating and issuing violation notices related to overgrowth. Enforcement of LA Code 56.08 has been lax for years so it is hard to walk for one city block without having to take a detour around sidewalk overgrowth.

The City Council member representing one section of Los Angeles created the attached brochure. The brochure is used to raise public (property owner) awareness and promote self policing of the situation.

That's a good comment, AlexW. I appreciate knowing someone's out there. I mean in See Click Fix. Not California. They can keep the state or throw it back.

(c) It shall be the responsibility of the owner of every lot or parcel of land to maintain the sidewalks adjacent to their lot or parcel. Sidewalks must be maintained free from encroaching obstructions including, but not limited to, overhanging tree limbs, bushes, vines, fences, walls, and structures.

Still no action and the plants are close to encroaching 3/4 of the sidewalk.
