This continuing problem is being initiated by a single individual who is living temporarily on the front porch of the commercial/residential building on the northwest corner of International. He regularly goes through trash bins, spreading the contents out on the street, and then picking through them to see what he wants to keep, and leaving the rest on the street. Getting him to stop this practice will solve this particular ongoing problem. He is not a dangerous individual, so any police intervention should be done with that in mind! However, this is a continuing health hazard that needs to be addressed and solved by the City of Oakland.

I'd like to add that problems with an extensive amount of trash dumped on this corner have been previously reported several times by myself through the SCF app, and have been cleaned up on a timely manner. The solution is not to simply clean up the dumped trash at this location, however, but to take steps to prevent this particular individual from continuing his trashing activity. Again, he does not appear to be a harmful individual, only very, very annoying. I have never witnessed him acting aggressively or in a manner physically dangerous to others. That should be taken into account in whatever steps the City of Oakland takes to correct this problem.
