Description
We did not want this issue closed. Now it isn't even on your list of issues. 4 ladders remain around house . Back yard looks like jungle. Vegetation continues to be a problem when trying to back out of driveway (it isn't the flowers by the curb - it's the taller stuff out in the yard). Dead trees on side of house closest to 234 Bond St.

After an inspection of the property was performed, the following were found:
1. Ladders have been put away. One still remains out of sight along the garage. I have already spoken to the owner about putting them away after performing work on the home, and since then, I have seen consistent compliance.
2. The back yard is in compliance with the City of Allegan Code of Ordinances. There isn't an ordinance that prohibits this type of landscaping from existing. If any of the landscaping does hang over onto your property, however, you are allowed to maintain (remove) the portion of that landscaping that crosses over onto your property.
3. I have asked our Public Works Director to inspect the tree that you had mentioned. He will determine if it needs to be removed or not.
4. The City will be looking further into which bushes and plants need to be removed in the front yard. His front yard is technically in compliance with our Code. However, if we find that the bushes and plants are creating a public safety concern (as in blocking your vision when pulling out of your drive way), we will ask the owner of record to have them removed. I have met with the owner of record, and he has agreed to work on this with us.
Thank you for bringing these concerns to our attention. We will continue to post updates on the status of this request as more decisions are made.
