Dangerous construction work zone. Roadway cut out resulting in 3" drop into soft surface. Cut goes halfway into deficient width bike lane where cars not used to or aware of need for cyclists to quickly merge into mv lane. Mountain at bottom of incline where cyclist easily travel 20+mph. Only indicator to cyclists/mv that there is changed roadway condition is one poorly placed orange barrel (too late for cyclist to make safe merge into traffic). DMD needs to refamiliarize staff, mgmt and contractors with MUTCD & AASHTO Bicycle Facilities Design Guide for construction zone signage,barrier and routing requirements before senseless and easily avoidable street tragedy occurs
