Please know that our contractors and city crews are working 7 days a week to remove debris from our streets, and while the entire city has not yet been addressed, they are making great progress. To date, more than 65,000 cubic yards of debris has been collected and processed per FEMA guidelines (debris must be measured in order for the city/taxpayers to be reimbursed), which equals about 20 Olympic-size swimming pools. Our first pass of the entire city should be completed soon, and then subsequent passes will occur. Debris removal is a priority as we work to get the city back to normal as quickly as possible.
The good news for our community is we are actually ahead of schedule compared to past storm events. For example, debris removal in 2004 took approximately 4 months. We are hoping to set a new standard with our efforts this year. Sincerely, Mayor's Action Center

Dear Mayor's Action Center,
Rounding the number of days to 30 since Irma hit, if only 20 Olympic sized swimming pools worth of debris have been, that IMO is not a good measure of success. FEMA policies notwithstanding for reimbursement purposes only, my expectations are that crews should have worked 24x7 to meet a two week target. Clean up now and worry about reimbursement later. On my block alone, there are 4 piles of debris with many rodents camping out. I suggest the Mayor shows urgency rather than a relaxed approach.... I'm sure there are no piles in his neighborhood.

You can’t make this stuff up!
Please hold open until cleaned up. Let’s not distort the facts.

The City of St Petersburg periodically reviews past reports that are made from citizens within our city limits, and in an effort to clean-up old issues that were resolved some time ago, we are marking as 'closed' those issues that were submitted in the past for which the work has been completed or the issue has otherwise been resolved.
If you think for any reason that the issue you submitted in the past might still be unresolved, please feel free to submit a new report with the SeeClickFix St. Pete website and we will make sure the issue is directed to the appropriate City department to be addressed as soon as possible.
Thank you - MAC
