Description

There is a space on the sidewalk between the bicycle rack and the "community pantry" box on the North Candler Street side of the Recreation Center which people (including City employees) are using for personal street parking. This creates an obstruction on the sidewalk and is grossly unfair to people who park legally. This pedestrian space needs signage to clearly state that is a NO PARKING space. It is one thing when city vehicles are parked there (although they should park in the provided space by the rear door surely?) but it is quite another thing to have to edge around private cars blocking the sidewalk. Please please attend to this matter soon!
Better signage would help enforcement.
The North Candler sidewalk issue has been reported to the police by one of my neighbours and has been the source of several complaints locally. A city employee parks his personal car there frequently and claims it is ok for anyone to park there, anytime. A NO PARKING sign would really help!

Thank you.
