Description
Speeding continues on warren st this has been going on for quite some time. starting early mornings about 6:45 am and late night calling the police with a description of the car doesn't do any good. there long gone by the time the police get's here a waste of there time and resources. is it possible they can place some of those metal speed bumps in the street like they have in east chicago. just watching these car speed through your neighborhood and turn a blind eye is very frustrating. not to mention these are people who ignore stop signs. To captain Alcox HPD. i hope things are going will with you and yours. are we still going to get Cameras on state line road . the city has also informed us that they are placing LED lighting throughout the city to make it brighter and safer . your opinion on these subject mean a lot to us . Harrison Park Crime Watch Members. have a safe day 🙂🙂🙂

I have been advised that city ordinance does not allow speed bumps to be installed on city streets. I have made patrol and traffic officers aware of your complaints and several of them have advised that they have made numerous passes through your street and have written citations when applicable. they will continue to do so. I realize it is hard to get a squad there in time when you call, but it is still more effective than trying to park a squad for any extended length of time as we are literally getting the same complaints all over the city that must also be addressed. I', sure that doesn't make YOU feel much better about your situation but I wanted you to have some understanding of OUR situation also.
Keep in mind that if a squad does stop a car speeding down your street, the actual stop probably wont occur on your street. Most likely it would be a block or too away on Hohman or State Line as it would take a few seconds to catch up and activate the emergency lights, and a few more seconds for the driver to actually notice and react to the lights.
By the way, it's never a waste of our time to respond to a call, it's what we are here for!! you have a great day yourself and thank you for your support!! We'll continue to monitor your street as best we can.
