670 Whitney Ave also had our car broken into in search of money. Toyota Prius. Car was locked. It happened 1:15- 2:45 am early this morning. This has got to stop. We really need blockwatch and more patrolling. My cameras didn't see them!

Michael - really sorry to hear about your break in. I wish this stuff weren't tolerated but I don't know how to stop it. Filing a police report and contacting your alder are the fall back ideas but they have no effect

This makes at least 3 cars that were locked and broken into. I lock my car religiously out of fear of ransacking/theft; our levels of vulnerability are obvious with our locks rendered obsolete. This must stop!!

Alder, it will be. I contacted the police; not overly interested. Didn't ask if anything was stolen. Just said for insurance purposes I can call a number he gave me. He encouraged people watching out for suspicious activity and telling the police// not too interested. Thanks

MNHGA: I myself have been broken into five times within the last two months. It is frustrating for sure. Please keep reporting these incidents to the police so that they can identify patterns and strategies. While the response on the part of Alders/police may seem one of disinterest, if the scope of the problem is clearer the more likely we are to get a result. Do you know who your Police Regional Manager is? Contacting them directly with Details is usually more effective than calling downtown.

Please if this hasn't been called in to the non-emergency number, 203-946-6316, do so. This is the best way for us to track the trends of date/time/location etc. If you have a complaint with the call taker, please ask for a supervisor and also send me an email and I can address it on my end as well.

As one of the Alders in the area I am very interested in trying to resolve all of the mentioned concerns. I am a victim as well with my car being ransacked. It is very important to contact the police for any incidents that occur. The District manager and I have had discussions on some of these situations and it is complex. Lt. Dominquez added additional patrols in the area but unfortunately they can't be everywhere. It you see any suspicious activity please call the police. If you have cameras take a look to see if there is anything of interest to share with the police.
