The majority of it seems to be petty theft, likely by people who are very desperate. Often very expensive equipment & large items are left behind, and just small amounts of cash & items with scrap value taken.

Naturally, this is a sensitive issue, which I think plays a part in the lack of a plan.

Wooster Square deals with the same issues. Both are nice areas where people leave bikes & lawn equipment outside, and sometimes don't lock doors, windows, or cars.

We should a) Call the police to report every single issue, and follow up afterwards, and b) Understand that we live in an urban area, and religiously lock everything (this should happen regardless).

This is very true!! Especially when you have fraudulent landlords like Yan Chen (5 Highview Dr, Woodbridge, CT) that owns zoning violated, fire hazard violated and illegally renting out attics in places like 732 Orange St, New Haven, CT.
