Description
Good Day. The City is currently embarking on the daunting task of cleaning up debris from Hurricane Irma. While most residents in this neighborhood are compliant with the pickup requirements and restrictions, not all, in fact, most, are not interested in keeping the street in front of their homes clean. That being said, I am requesting that the City comment or dictate that homeowners and renters clean up the residual debris left from the City's clean-up efforts. It is imperative that the street be kept clear of debris because we have a limited and inadequate stormwater drainage system (2 storm drains on the entire street in the 46-49 Street block of 18th Avenue N, as well as the same block on 20th Avenue N. Most of the residual debris from Hurricane Irma will no doubt drain into the stormwater system when we have rains. This only causes blockages in the already-strapped system and results in street and lawn flooding when rain occurs, whether a short or long-term rain event. Please encourage, via media notification, or bill insert, that it is essential residents clean debris from the street in front of their respective homes. Thank you for you attention to this important issue and all your efforts to effect a clean city.
