So as you can see this property still remains undeveloped. The neighbors really have a hard time understanding how the city officials can let a property owner let this property be exist as such a hazard and eyesore for as long as it has been. So the answer is no nothing has been done and yes the problem still exists. The city of Garfield just doesn't care.

So here we are May 2017 and still nothing has been done with this property. How could any city let
dare allow this owner to leave his property undeveloped and a eye sore to the community. The owner doesnt care and the city doesnt care. Its a shame that the residents have to live with this type of negligence. I feel like a broken record as my comments are the same. Leave this post open to prove that the City of Garfield is turning to Garbage literally.

The property is still undeveloped. The people of this city deserve better.

As you would assume, this property is still left in shambles. How does a City allow this?

So here it is 9 years later and the property is still left in the same condition. I do not know of any other municipality that would allow this to happen. Not one.
so yes, the problem area is still a problem. the city has to keep leaving notices to cut the grass, remove snow etc.
This is a crime.

Now going on 10 Years!!!! who allows this. I want to see another municipality get away with this.

So here we are 10 years later and still no improvement. Does anyone else live is a city that would allow property owners to keep abandoned, torn down building with just steps left as an eye sore in the neighborhood. Its mind blowing that this city just does NOT care about the quality of life for the residents.

If you can imagine. Nothing has been done to this property at all. There is over grown grass and it it such an eye sore in the community.
We have complained over and over again and our city department heads just dont care. It is apparent that rhe city will not step in.
This is so disappointing to the residents that have to live here.
Nothing will ever change, I am afraid.

11 years now and the property has not been developed. The owner has gotten summons upon summons and yet he is able to leave this eye sore as is.
I want to be clear that this property had a home that caught fire twice (mysteriously). the owner demolished it around 2001. So it has been 20 year all together. I opened this forum 2010 and have added comments for the last 11 years. Mind blowing to me.

So here we are april 2022 and nothing has been done other then rhe stockade fence is broken and crumbled to the ground. I have tried to ask the city to enforce clean up and they do nothing. It seems i live in a city that just doesnt care about quality of life concerns for us residents. It gross to look. I will keep posting to keep track as to how long nothing gets done.

The update is that the property still remains unimproved. I wish I could say I am surprised but I am not surprised.Great city that focuses on such unimportant things but let's this property be abandoned. This property owner have two properties that have been abandoned for over twenty years. It's a crime. How do we change it. 🤔

So here we are 2024 and this property is still unimproved. There is a stockade fence that has already fallen down and been replaced. But that's it. I am amazed at the city of Garfield. Allows this property will be abandoned and doesn'take it by condemnation. the taxes are at minimul, so it is a money making piece of land undeveloped that the city has every right to take. distressed, eye sore. We stopped arguing about it with the city because they obviously don't care. they waste more money on picnics, then quality of life issue's. there has been an increase of random cats and still nothing. It is pretty shameful. That city officials want to be in these positions, but don't do anything to better communities. Just sad.
