Apparently, the message hasn't gotten to all. If one would read the EPD budget presentation you would see that one item EPD intends to cut back on is Traffic Enforcement. Now, that assumes there was traffic enforcement prior to July 1. So, this is where we are at. In addition, there appears to be an individual whose mission is to deflect speeding issues and use any means to NOT perform traffic enforcement or anything that the traffic division is responsible for. Again, you're on your own. I'd suggest spike strips. Check Amazon.

would seem if you have specific cars that you appaently see speeding with some regularity you should call the EPD >>>when you see them <<< and file a complaint then. Get specific. Post the speeders here.... Put up photos of the zooming cars....

This is a problem on my Abbe Rd as well. Add off-road vehicles owned by the children of apparently connected parents (8 years of this now) to the mix, and that's my neighborhood. But drive on any interstate past a State Police cruiser and everyone slows down to 50.... then it's right back up to 85 a quarter mile down the road. The ones that get a ticket fight it in court and negotiate a small fine, and it's back doing the same thing. No one likes too much government, but it's blatantly apparent that people sure can't govern themselves.

I've complained for a long time about the speeding on Steele Road. They don't seem to care. And how can you get the plate or a picture of a car that speeding past your house? I think it's a lost cause, but I do think about talking to the town council. I don't want an accident to get their attention.

Thank you for your report. As you are aware, the Traffic Division does have limited resources, and therefore we do our best to address all complaints that we receive. This division does have a procedure set in place to address these types of complaints. As you stated, we have deployed a speed display trailer to your roadway, hoping that would help with your situation. Since you are informing us that you feel that was ineffective, I will be placing a separate speed monitor on this roadway to record speeds so that I may review them. With over 450 roadways in the Town of Enfield, please understand that police can not be at all places, at all times, and we will do the best that we can to enforce CT laws for all that work, visit and reside in Enfield. Hi Lindsey. Yes, we can place that same device on Broadleaf. We only have one of these devices, so it will likely be a few weeks until I can get it up on Broadleaf.
