Description
Last night, 10/24, I had my second near death experience trying to cross High Street at the Beacon Street crosswalk to access Beacon Field. The cars simply do not stop or acknowledge that this is a heavily used crosswalk. It is by far the most dangerous crosswalk I have ever used and I have lived in three major cities. School kids use this crosswalk every day. It is how the entire downtown area accesses Beacon Field. This is my second formal complaint. Nothing has been done and someone is going to get killed if improvements are not made. After my first complaint, I noticed a sign was put up on the double yellow line. It was run over the very first day and removed. WE NEED A BLINKING SIGN THAT INDICATES WHEN SOMEONE IS TRYING TO CROSS. People driving feel they have left downtown and no longer need to yield to pedestrians or drive the speed limit but this crosswalk is an integral part of downtown.
