Descrizione

Elwell street is an access to first street,second street,third street, Jennifer lane,Jonathan lane,tea party way, Swansea road,loomis Road etc covering about 750to 1000 Homes and apartments . It is a nightmare to turn left on to Elwell street from Broadway (route 99). This was brought to the notice of our Hon. Mayor, ward 6 councilor, commissioner etc requesting them to provide a Delayed green light signal to help people to take the left turn to Elwell street. Now it is almost one year passed all our appeal turned on to deaf ears. Please HELP us and guide us as to whom to beg or appeal to provide this delayed signal light. This is a life threatening matter.please help. Thank you

I never have a problem taking a left from Broadway to Elwell. I have lived on Elwell for years. You just have to be patient and wait till it is safe to do so. If you are scared you could always pull into CVS parking lot on Broadway and pull out onto Central Ave. and wait for the light there to cross Broadway to go up Elwell Street. The real problem on Elwell Street is that cars are flying by here at high speeds using it as a shortcut to get to Maplewood Square to avoid the horror show in the morning at Broadway and Salem Street due to the Charter School and all their buses backing up Salem Street back to the intersection.

Why the anonymous commentator did not want to give his or her name person is suggesting you to get into some ones property and come to the other street to get to Elwell street what a stupid suggestion god bless the stupid one

I have been living here over 25 years and have never had a problem taking a left from Broadway to Elwell Street. Maybe no action has been taken because it is not a problem.

Every one around Swan road 2nd street Jonathan lane Teaparty lane and Jennifer lane EXPRESS their concern about this issue except the anonymous person who commented negetively we hope and pray the city Commissioner shall take proper action. So nothing happened

Thank you for keeping touch I am positive this will not be done because the police commissioner is not the least bothered about the safety of the residents of this area.Futher more there are some dog and the manger people suggesting you to take a right turn and make a U turn and come back to Elwell street .Once again thank you for highlighting,you may shelve it.

Person who lived for 25 years commenting that he never had any problem turning left to Elwell street he seems to be out of touch during his time there had been about 25 houses in this neighborhood now more than thousand houses and apartments. It is sad to note some people have a negative attitude to endorse what is right as a matter of policy. I leave it with the City and the police commissioner to decide what is good and bad for the safety of the people around this area .

Imagine if the city put delayed street lights at every intersection where you would take a left turn it would be a disaster. Traffic is bad enough without putting delayed signals. Maybe if one is having trouble taking left turns at the light they should go for more driving training. Coming down Broadway trying to take a left onto Salem Street heading toward Maplewood does not have a delayed signal. That’s one of the worst places to try to take a left turn through traffic not like a little side Street like Elwell.

Gentlemen comparing Salem street and maple wood must go hundred yards towards Saugus he would be able to see the traffic lights operating beautifully with left turn signals and you can’t turn right without the signal.it shows Saugus is more advanced than Malden. I want be surprised that our City will not improve as long as the negative attitude people live. It’s really a sad state of affairs .God bless The city of Malden
