Description
Every night around 530-630PM lately, there are almost no spots available on the State Street side of Bradley. I'm not sure if this is due to the crowd at Dashi, people visiting the bike shop or the combination of the two but something seriously needs to be done.
Why are violators never ticketed? I don't even remember the last time I've seen cars with tickets on them. Residents on Bradley would all appreciate some CONSISTENT enforcement. Please.

Yup, it's getting kind of ridiculous lately. Several nights after work, I've had to park towards the middle of the street or on Eld.
A long term solution would be more evident signs in this area. People see no threat parking here.

I do my best to see things from both sides: I run a business on Bradley (previously referenced Bike Shop) and live on Pearl St.
The city recently painted State Street with line stripes and also reset all adjacent the side streets to be compliant with the zoning regulations of the BA zone in an effort to make our neighborhood better. It helps clean things up and supports both businesses and residents who live on and around State St. I think (or hope?) we all can agree that the street looks better!
The reality that we all know is that the whole State Street neighborhood, residential and commercial, has a major parking deficiency. The last study I have says that State Street has a parking shortfall of 257 spaces. Sadly, we can't magically make that appear. I think enforcement is very important, and more of these posts will help that. I think the idea of the residential exemption on some streets is also a good one, and should be looked at together by both businesses and residents. I think the notion that resident's needs are more important than business's needs is very misguided. We should all be working to have a symbiotic+healthy relationship with our local neighbors, businesses or residents. We are all taxpayers, and we all contribute to making our city better. Both sides need to do better.
