Pathetic pan handlers 24/7 near the new Chase Bank corner everyday lol. Nobody cares on your local council or mayor, police etc. Time to drain the swamp at Cityhall people!!!!!!

I will succeed if I have to run for city council myself. Time fir the lane duck coincil to be gone. They gnaw at the bit at meetings and get nothing accomplished.

At this point it would seem TI is being taken advantage of by these folks...what the answer should be is finding a legal way to remove them from that location...
Everyone certainly must agree this is not what visitors and citizens want at the most trafficked intersection in the city...
Plus many must feel "unsafe" walking by this location, and remember the traffic light cycle is very long at this location causing an extended time in front of these folks...
Legal or not they do BEG for pennies and food frequently almost scaring folks into donating!

Tried that with Cathic Social Services. These dead beat lazy idiots do not want a shelter. Wabt a free ride on our dime. PD doesn't even want to arrest them half the time because of the paperwork and if they do the guys are out in 48 hrs right back at it. Enough I saw.

Rumor has it they may be using the shower facilities at the beach access across from Waffle House. There are also City ordinances in place that would solve the problem with these people but they are not being enforced by the City.

Yes and also shower at the facility across from Publix. Tired of this BS. Chamber of Commerce has had enough with this issue as well. I am so tired if trying but will prevail even if it leads to legal action.

They beg for money to support their drinking (they constantly appear intoxicated) and people give them free food. They urinate in public, pass out on the sidewalks, and try to sell things to tourists. The tourists don't know any better but the rest of us who have to see this every day are tired of it. There is a reason why ordinances were written against this behavior but the city refuses to enforce them.

Yes rbey do zbd are nit shameless about it. Tbeir lounging on the xudewalk in front if Britt's by McDonald's now is a hazard to the public walking on tbe sidewalk. Time for ys to step up and get this issue formally addressed. That is my goal to obtain 100 signatures and then go before the city council and mandate they make a concerted effort with our laxed PD Chief to rewrite ordinances if needed or be more stringent in enforcing this loitering issue.

Nice to see this much interest in this topic, but the app says See Click Fix. Where are the comments from those that are supposed to Fix this. I hope there is a solution to this soon. Sounds like we've all had enough of it.

I agree Lisa. This is 100% a City issue. The City government is lazy and unmotivated to do anything that doesn't result in them making more money. The constant fire/police calls for these vagrants is costing the City thousands of dollars that are not being replenished through taxes because they simply don't contribute. Everyone else here contributes: residents through property taxes and tourists through the money they spend here. The vagrants use all the free services but don't contribute. These people have resources to get on their feet (homeless organizations, VA if they are veterans, etc.) but these resources require them to clean up their act and accept the help. Many times it's easier to get drunk on the beach and let people give you free food and money. If you look at the online City ordinances, there are plenty of them that address this issue - they simply aren't being enforced.

Just wanted to add that I was afraid to cross over to Middle Grounds restaurant on 11/27/2017 approx. 430pm due to a vagrant sleeping
stretched out on the park bench in front of the restaurant.
