To answear your question Pete yes that is West Whiteland Township/ Exton not west chester but some people think wc extends to coatesville ya know. As a firefighter in the area i do feel that intersection should have been better planeed out and had the left turn. its a nightmare even when im running my lights to get to the station. Needs to be fixed or one side at a time at least.

I live near there, even closer to Exton, and my address is West Chester though I am also in West Whireland.

Totally overdue...I witnessed a very bad accident at this intersection that possibly could have been prevented had there been a left turn signal

Ive been at the accidents at this intersection and ill say it again even fire apparatus ambulances and police have issues navigating even at emergency light and siren rate. I was up front had the truck making every sound it could siren bell horn you name it i had it going and we still almost got slammed even after stopping to double check if we were clear. Im willing to bet since its a state road ( I believe it is anyway not 100% sure) they have been told it needs to be fixed and bet they are saying oh we dont have the money to do that this year every year for the last 10

and Swedesford Rd also.

I can't understand why a left turn signal has never been added (even if each side goes separately). I saw a school bus full of children in an accident there over a year ago, it seems like a simple solution. There is no shoulder room and in the morning when people are in a hurry it is very dangerous.

Ship road is 100% a state road

The Townshipo needs to get the STATE involved to get this accomplilshed!! It is dangerous.
