There were zero leaves on the tree for the duration of the growing season. I’m not an arborist but I have a degree in Environmental Service and I can assure that this tree is not alive. Also, many other trees of the same species (gum) and age have been cut down along our court over the last three years. All seem to have been planted about 5-7’ off the curb in the ROW and planted at the same time.
Can you at least make a quick visit this winter to measure the setback to confirm ownership so things do not stall any longer. My measurements have the base of the truck sitting at about 7.5’ from the back of the curb. I should only take you about two minutes to measure.
Additionally, people park along this section of the curb frequently and the tree limbs hang out over a car. The tree is already a bit of a liability for falling on a car during a wind/ice/snow storm.
