Description

This. Is another example of MDOT taking a coffee break on a road interstructure that was dated for the sixties. The first thing that should be looked at is the intersection of Baker and Washington Rd. There is no streetlight at the intersection which makes it hard to find at nighttime to turn on to Baker from either direction. When coming off of Baker and turning onto Washington it is challenging because of the limited sight distance in either direction. There has been a number of accidents there because of poor lighting and limited sight distance. The amount of traffic has increased greatly over the years but road conditions remain from the sixties.

Then going up Washington Rd to where I-94 intersects is a nightmare in itself. You have cars traveling at 50 MPH on Washington coming up to a 2 lane bridge with limited sight of traffic lights and people coming on and off I-94. Add also the busy city park at one end of bridge and opposite that an MDOT park and ride lot.

Or gas taxes, license plate fees were raised to fix our interstructure but we still have inadequate interstructure that is costing people money because of accidents, even lost of lives all because MDOT is sitting in front of their computers playing solitaire in stead of fixing inadequate interstructures in our roadways.
