Description
Possible abandoned car in the parking lot of Fort Ward Park. It has been in the same parking space each of the last 5 times I have been there over the last approximately 3 weeks, on weekends and weekdays.

BIPD officers located the vehicle, contacted the owner, and explained that leaving a vehicle at the park after park hours of operation is a violation and it would be towed pursuant to RCW 46.55.070.
The driver explained that he was in the area working a construction job and had been using the space to park his car in the meantime. He stated that he would probably continue to leave his vehicle at the park during normal hours of operation (8am to dusk) which is not a violation, but he agreed to move his car prior to park closing. Let us know if the problem persists.
