Description

This green strip is maintained by the company hired when it was decided to outsource lawn maintenance service. When they mow, they blow the leaves off the street and onto the grass. The leaves, branches, and trash are never picked up. I personally raked the leaves into the street a couple of weeks ago in preparation for the annual village leaf removal activities. Unfortunately, the day after I raked the leaves into the street, the lawn maintenance people came and blew the leaves back onto the green strip. I asked them to blow them back onto the street. They informed me that they were instructed to blow the leaves off the street up onto the green strip. They promised they would pick them up the next time in a couple of weeks. It never happened. The place is a mess and unsanitary with a lot of trash and dog feces mixed in with the leaves. I'm doing my best to pitch in and keep the area presentable, but I feel like I am shoveling sand against an incoming tide. Please instruct the lawn maintenance service to pick up the leaves, trash, and fallen branches when they mow. It is important that this be done before the winter. You should know neighborhood children cannot play there due to the feces left behind by people illegally walking their dogs on the strip.
