Turn signals are desperately needed at the intersection of Robert Ruark Drive and Hwy. 211. Often only one car gets to turn onto Robert Ruark Drive during a green light, and then you get through on caution light.

DOT has added a few turning lights but they are rarely in operation. They should have installed the turning light in the direction coming off of Robert Ruark Dr. where it is often very dangerous. It is hard to tell if drivers are going straight or making the turn. Also there is considerably more traffic using that light leaving the Smithville Crossing Center with the Brunswick Senior Center, Cape Fear Fitness, Dialysis center, Physical Therapy, etc...

Was almost hit at this intersection last night. Other vehicle turned into my lane when I was going straight. Scary intersection.

It is very difficult to close this ticket because the problem still exists. There was a turning light installed, but only for traveling on Highway 211/Howe Street direction. It does not seem to be synched properly because many times during high traffic times you still sit through 2 lights because it seems to be programed to blink yellow. There are far too many accidents and close calls daily at that intersection and something needs to be done about it. There is a desperate need for turning lights as vehicles are coming off SR 1852 (Robert Ruark Dr.) It is a guessing game each time you go through the intersection wondering if anything is coming or if the vehicle coming through is going straight or turning with no signal on. Someone in DOT needs to sit back and observe for a day and just take note of just how dangerous it really is.
