I just got a call from WH Emergency Mgt Center asking for our patience. Priority is being given to streets where emergency responders must answer calls. No school or trash pick up tomorrow.

@RGT = not sure I understand what that means. How do they know where emergency responders will have to answer calls before the call comes in? Are you saying the plow trucks lead the way for the Emergency responders. Do the emergency responders call the plow trucks and say something like "hey we have an emergency on 123 Any St., meet us there?" I am not being sarcastic here or trying to be contrary, but I don't understand what that means. Thanks.

I have been listening to the police scanner since the storm started. When an emergency call comes in for fire or ambulance, if a street isn't accessible, they are indeed sending the payloader and a plow to help get to those in need. They have also given all the fire and police shovels and those guys have been literally help shovel cars out if they can. These folks are all working around the clock with extra cars and trucks out helping. The Public Works guys are working 17 hour shifts with a 3 hour break and then back to work. The tow companies have also been working around the clock to get stuck cars out of the way.
