the roads need to be cleared, haven't seen one plow all storm and days after.. We are becoming very irritated with the town of seymour for the lack of duties displayed in the neighborhood. If my 87 year old neighbor should have become ill and had another life threatening emergency, how would she be able to get the help she or others need.

Umm.. haven't you heard? The town is working as fast as they can? If your neighbor has an emergency, she should call 911 and someone will get there as fast as they can. Please note, there are elderly all over Seymour, not just on your street. Also.. fyi.. in case you didn't hear, there was 3 feet of snow that fell in a very short period of time. Yep.. not sure you noticed. THE TOWN IS DOING THE BEST THEY CAN! The goal is to have 1 lane open on all roads by 6pm tonight. Still a couple of hours until 6pm...They are working as fast as they can to meet this goal. You can be as "irritated" as you want, but grow up and stop whining. People like you are what's wrong with this world. Me me me.... I want to be first. Get over it. These people are working as fast and as hard as they can. Seymour is doing a GREAT job at opening roads, as they always do. Just because you weren't first, doesn't mean they aren't doing their best. Maybe you should be waiting with a coffee for the plow guys when they come by, because unlike you, they haven't been home since the beginning of this storm and probably haven't had a hot cup of coffee in hours!

If you knew that this post was for a friend who hasn't had their roads plow you'd reconsider call me narcissistic , Its funny how you said I'm the problem in the world, considering that I'm not the troll who comments on a issue needing felt with. Yea i may have come off as a D+ck but to get things done you need to be. Im glad to tell you that not did i give the plow a coffee but i also lent him tools to fix a problem on his truck, but I don't need you to condone me for my actions. I know most town workers and milking the clock is their specialty. So go huff and puff on youtube you troll, cause aint nobody got time for that.

Yesterday we, in Seymour, received a “code red” (reverse 911) phone call in which there was an “explanation” of why our streets aren’t plowed like they used to be. Regarding that explanation for lack of plowing after the blizzard, it was blamed on the large amount of snow, preventing use of the smaller plow trucks. But, if those trucks had "kept up with" the falling snow, they could have easily plowed a 6-8" depth quite easily. The trucks would have had to go back to streets they had plowed earlier, perhaps every two or three hours. That was the practice in the past. At the very worst, the final snow depth would have been about 6-8" of snow, making it quite simple to have the streets passable. Now, much more than twenty four hours after the snow ended, it is still impossible to leave one's driveway. Unless, of course, one lives on or near Stanley Drive, which is passable, and has been. Perhaps a town official lives nearby?
I have heard from someone who should know, that the town plow drivers were instructed to stop plowing at 6pm on Friday.

I agree with Ray's comment and feel that they should have kept up during Friday night. They knew the forecast as we did. We never heard a plow go by in the evening or night. Where were they? Just curious??? Were they being repaired or where they helping main roads or highways. I feel that town plows should concentrate on just that THE TOWN!! It's quite fearful knowing that we can't be helped in any emergency.
